This wine manages to combine light to medium weight with medium plus intensity. Red fruited with Sous Bois. Downie is a gifted winemaker working in an excellent terroir for Pinot Noir. Lovely bottle of the ‘87 opened May 2019. I don’t have much experience with older vintages but seemed to have aged well although maybe a bit past it’s prime. Smooth and balanced with good depth of flavor. Perfect for a rich beef dinner with smashed Yukon golds and gravy. — 5 years ago
