Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2014

This bottle brought me tremendous joy. My last bottle a few months back was over the hill and it really bothered me because I felt this could easily go 10+ years when I tasted it on release. This is a perfect example of there are no great wines just great bottles. Lovely scents of apple, lime and vanilla. A wonderfully integrated palate with a finish that makes you think premier cru. — 6 months ago

@Ira Schwartz, totally agree on your good bottle vs. good wine assessment!!

@Doug Powers I always would laugh about that when people would use that saying. Here were two bottles bought at the same time stored next to each other . Both corks were in good shape.

@Ira Schwartz, I’ve experienced it too many times to not believe it, particularly once the bottles have some age on them. Glad to read that this bottle met/exceeded your expectations!!

Winemaker's Selection Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

It went with tuna it went with butternut squash soup with a hazelnut foam, it went with rabbit and duck. Delicious and light, but still engaging and lovely with all sorts of flavors of flowers and roses and earthy spices and everything in between. Very versatile wine. — 10 months ago

Cuvée A Amrita Willamette Valley White Blend

Really nice wine-I’m not typically one who drinks sparkling wine but this one is really good! Fruit forward but still dry and pairs well with seafood or perfect for a toast! — 7 years ago

Again left my notes behind. A good wine but quite big for a Musigny and expensive. — 8 years ago

Elisabeth Chambellan Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2011

[Tasted on November 7, 2022 at Home]

We tasted this wine when we visited Chateauneuf-du-Pape in 2013. Wine is Grenache-driven (perhaps 95%) and the blend includes all 13 Chateauneuf-du-Pape varietals. Fruit is from La Crau and from 80 to 100 year old vines. Cherry, strawberry and raspberry fruit, with graphite, licorice, wet stone, forest floor and spice.
