Night six on the Allure of the Seas and wine number eight from the wine crate. This night we are at Samba Grill Brazilian Steakhouse.
Deep garnet red. Dark and layered nose with notes of cinnamon, spices, menthol, and a touch of damp leaves. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Rich and powerful on the palate, drinking at its peak right now. Layers of cassis, black currants, some forest floor and herbal elements. Strong acidity too. Long finish. Drink till 2027. — 8 years ago

Houston’s very own Del Frisco’s Grille is sadly shutting down. So, as it was with their fine steakhouse concept ‘Sullivan’s’ when it closed down, they’re doing a 50% off promotion for ALL alcohol. Needless to say...we have a few dinners lined up with our Supper Club and other friends before they shutter their doors for good on 9/16.
This is about as good as New World entry-level Chardonnay gets. — 7 years ago
Unbelievable! Had this at a Brazilian Steakhouse. Had a glass immediately, the balance was decanted and wow! The fruits were wonderful. After an hour the taste of pepper and fruit was unforgettable! Delish and I’ll get more!! — 7 years ago

Had at Cameron’s Steakhouse by recommendation from our waiter. We both enjoyed it. More French than typical Napa cab. — 7 years ago

Drank this with a filet mignon and brussels+panchetta at 1875 Steakhouse in French Lick, Indiana. Surprised I went with this over the Malbec option. Very chewy tannins that demand accompaniment. The dark cherry, slightly spicy, very slightly earthy body really opens up with food. Happy with my choice! — 6 years ago
