Latest vintage from Angel Mendoza--Malbec/cabsav blend--our favorite winery in Mndza. — 11 years ago

Reddish purple in the glass with aromas of cinnamon, cola nut and strawberries. Fresh and juicy with great acidity; the front palate hits with black cherry, tart cranberry and more baking spices. The mid palate carries some woody, earthy notes that finish with black tea, porcini mushrooms and fine grained, silky tannins. — 12 years ago
A dense glass-staining purple, the '06 Charles Smith Syrah 'Royal City' is a monumental wine. Big, pungent aromas of game, truffles, black olives and dried fruits exploded from the glass. Complex, but still seamlessly balanced. The tastes stayed on the palate for a seemingly infinite length of time. Simply wonderful! — 12 years ago
The final bottle of the case. This wine is now darker and smokier on the nose with less of the blue fruit and more of the stewed black fruits. The palate still has wonderful acidity but is far less lush. Flavors of wet earth mingle with darker stewed plum and blackberries and lead to a bit of a shorter finish that shows a touch more puckering acidity. — 8 years ago
Very good. Delicious fruity finish — 10 years ago
Brambly red berry fruits. High acid and untamed, a wild expression of #pinotnoir #nzwine — 10 years ago
Really enjoy this. Good oak/smokiness tannins and fruit. — 10 years ago
Not to mention the awesome naughty theme, this wine is a refreshing combination of apples and peaches without a buttery taste. It has an extremely smooth finish that makes me want to drink more. Love it! — 10 years ago

My last 2011 bottle. The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel. Good balance, lingering finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Aged well. — 8 years ago
Low alcohol content and decent tannins make this wine easy drinking. And not bad for a prelude to something more serious down the road. — 9 years ago
