Lees and acidity. That is the crux of it. Creates some fascinating flavor profiles- like nibbling on a Dogwood branch after it lost its leaves in the fall. Very interesting wine that is begging to be laid down in a cellar and only brought out in the next decade- it's a bit heavy handed now with the yeast and acid but has massive aging potential that I think will reveal some fascinating flavors. — 2 years ago
Súper Toscan di Macho Alfa! ESPECTACULARE — 4 years ago
Love non-ipas. Think this saison needs a little more farmhouse funk. Different yeast maybe. — 10 months ago
It is a beer. Alfa special edition. 150 years. 75cl for 7,50euro. A bit high pricedfor a 7,5% blond. But it is a ver good one. — 4 years ago
This is a delicious Petite Sirah from Russian River Valley.
Showing a really gorgeous nose.
Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, raisins, earth, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, herbs, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, dark chocolates and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 8-year-old is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years. Showing nice complexity at this point. Rich and extracted.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.
Spicy and entertaining. Fruit forward and engaging. Good by itself or with food.
A blend of 90% Petite Sirah with Zinfandel and Syrah. A small production of only 6 barrels.
14.6% alcohol by volume .
92 points.

Super bold, super fruity, super jammy. Full bodied, sweet by dry wine standards, definitely feeling every bit of the 50% syrah. — 3 months ago
