Seems a bit wood deprived, but I get it. Perhaps all stainless prebottling maturation v. otherwise. Intriguingly subtle nose on first blush that develops with a few spins as it finds its place in the glass going post rain wet earth , grass and fungi hinting blueberry and black pepper. A nice acid balance and tannic presence allows for a nice coating from front to back that lingers post plunge leaving a juvenile blackberry aftermath encouraging another spin, hit and contemplation... PS good value, low alc,, and interesting characteristics✌🏽💙👣🕶🍷💚🌀 — 7 years ago
2016 is much more mellow than the 2013 and 2015 vintages. It is still big on the darker fruit flavors that are common to the Adelaide valley, and has a standard long smooth finish with a bit of an oaky aftermath. Delicious with a smoked ribeye steak! — 7 years ago
Smell: Black whineberries. Bit of coffee.
Taste: blackwhineberries. Bit of citrus. Tanin aftermath.
Great summer whine. — 8 years ago
The nose was intense, spicy and wonderfully lifted with black cherry offset by rosy floral tones, mint, spiced orange, crushed stone and hints of black earth. On the palate, I found silky textures contrasted by a combination of tart cherry, cranberry and zesty acidity along with a spicy citrus spring to its step--the purity here incredible as well. It finished remarkably long with saturating tart cherry fruit, inner florals and hard candies. A hint of tannin lingered through the aftermath assuring that this is not only amazing tonight, but sure to get even better over time. I’m excited to watch it evolve throughout the evening. — 8 years ago

The story of @presquilewine begins on the border of Arkansas and Louisiana, where Matt Murphy grew up working harvests on his family’s corn, soy, and rice farm. His appreciation for life led him to study molecular biology, but he kept finding himself being called out of the lab and back to the land. 🌊🏔
Matt found his home in California, but his links to the Gulf Coast were still strong. It was an unfortunate confluence of events that just when he and his family were looking to found their own winery, Hurricane Katrina tore asunder and reshaped some of the lands closest to their hearts. The little spit of land on the Mississippi Gulf Coast known as Presqu’Ile, which had been a special place for Murphy family gatherings, was wiped from the map.
In the aftermath of such transformative events, all we can do is remember the good times and immortalize them how we can. For the Millers, that took the form of putting the name of their special place on the front of each bottle. Every time someone flips it around to learn more about what they’re drinking, Presqu’Ile lives again. 🌅 — 6 years ago

Dark garnet-ish lightly glass-coating purple in the glass. Cassis, ash, and cigar box on the nose. Echoed on the palate with firm tannins and medium plus acidity. Long, dark tarry finish. New World fruit with an Old World ethos making it just as “food friendly” as wine is supposed to be, and still going strong thirteen and a half years on. I’m enjoying mine with beef stew in the aftermath of a classic nor’easter. Don’t wait for one in your region. — 8 years ago
Here is the epitome of the Cheval Blanc style. The nose is a fragrant medley of ripe fruit, licorice, raspberries, a little smokiness, and floral notes. It is fairly dense and powerful as it opens, and the high percentage of Cabernet Franc with which it was made is evident. It is sweet yet undeniably elegant, red cherries, plums and herbs past the mid palate. The smooth tannins are charming, and the lively yet balanced acidity gives it great lift. The finish usually exceptional, was just a little dry on this showing, though it didn’t undermine the lovely symphony between fruit, acid and tannin. Asian spices and coffee lap at the palate in the aftermath. Overall, a wine of remarkable intensity that also has an ethereal grace that almost reminds you in that aspect of great Lafite. It is a signature Cheval Blanc of great breed and elegance. — 9 years ago
Bold aroma on the front , deep full on taste for a Petit Syrah and wonderful aftermath. All the way! — 7 years ago
A hydrogen bomb of dark fruit but it’s the aftermath that makes this special. After the blueberry and pomegranate subside, enticing tastes of Black and Milds, baking spice and cigar box make their presence known. Tannins, alcohol and acidity were seamlessly integrated. — 7 years ago
It was a suprise how good this 8€ wine was! I would say it had this black pepper(ish) flavor. Nothing in the middle and great aftermath again. After getting some air, whole wine tasted better from start till finish. Great for just as is or maybe some pepper chicken, light red metas and cheeses. — 7 years ago
