Easily the best wine of my birthday week. ❤️❤️❤️ sweet baby Jesus it was packed with red raspberry compote, sous bois, and herbs. The wine kept drawing you back to the glass to smell the layers upon layer of generous fruit the 2005 vintage provides, but underpinned and counterpointed by rustic notes of truffle, mushrooms, herbs, meat, iron, etc. This is one of those bottles I'll never forget. True balance, power, and depth.

Drinking PERFECT FOR THE AFTERMATH OF A BOMB CYCLONE AND ARCTIC CONDITIONS. Reminder that there were beautiful things (in 2008 at least).

Oakier than I usually like or expect Burgundy, but, well, champagne, er, burgundy problems. This shit's the earth, wood and cherry tinged truth.
