OK, 5 1/2 years since my last checkin of this SUPER intense Napa Cab made for our dearly-departed friend, former mayor of St. Helena, which was but one of his MANY accomplishments.

SUPER intense, ripe Napa Cabernet, this was what Del Britton loved to drink, and so he had access to some great Napa Cab fruit and had it made to his liking. He SNUCK a case of this into my cellar at a wine group party, I didn’t know I had it until 1-2 weeks later. I miss Del very much, his generosity, wit and kindness were and are still stuff of which legends are made. Thanks Del for the great memories!!

My favorite Carmenere, to date. I will forever remember this day as “the day the Mueller report was completed, but I did not care, because I was busy being excited about 45’s 2020 contender.” I will drink this again when Mayor Pete mops the floor with the orange monarch. We toasted the old Year with Doubleback’s 2014 Cab. Signed by both Drew Bledsoe and the wine maker. Dusty leather came to mind. Deep dark earthy flavors. However, they didn’t transition into a multi-layer complexity. Also the finish was not as intense and grippy as I had hoped for. So contrary to our 2019. Here at the end of the year where Tammy is concluding her mayor tenure after 16 years and 25 years of service to the community and the City. She received overwhelming gratitude and love from folks from all walks of life who felt she had impacted their life for the better. Reflecting back at the honoring we received at Capital Church (my first standing ovation I have received in my life ...it pays to hangout with the big wig 😄), the heart warming, full of grace and gratitude dinner with the Stake Presidents. The emotional, caring, loving, tears and laughter farewell event with the City directors and employees and finally, the 250 community stakeholders, friends and family joining us at the Mayor Tammy farewell dinner at Scentsy. What a grand finale. Cheers 2019! You have been fantastic and your finish will linger forever!!! — 4 years ago

In 1990, Daniel & Florence Cathiard now own estate. A blend of 55% Cab Sauv, 40% Merlot, 4% Cab Franc, & 1% Petit Verdot. Dark red with dark berry fruit aromas, cedar and sweet spice. On the palate rich & complex ripe black fruit flavors, oak & cacao. Firm rich tannins, full, lingering, perfect balance. L-T aging. — 6 years ago
