Wow, incredible, and still holding up after all these years. Upon opening, basically no fruit, all secondary characteristics, especially on the nose. As it opened up, some dark cherry appeared and eventually the nose and palate came together. A sensory journey 48 Years in the making and a pleasure to partake. — 8 years ago
From a magnum...for a '90 there seems to be no color progression on it at all, even at the edges. There is a minty, herbaceous note to it but it has great blackberry flavors and nice firm tannins on the finish. Really incredible how well this is holding up and an outstanding expression of Napa Valley Cab! — 8 years ago
1982 vintage. Color still fairly youthful. Meniscus not too wide/watery. Brickish, minty nose with big cedar & baking chocolate flavors. Holding up better than expected for a fruity vintage. — 8 years ago
What a nose! Fruit but strongly tinged with spice and hints of cigar? Medium body with fruit and acid but latter lingers into finish which RC says should note be for Napa cab and sign of post prime by 5+ years. But still great to drink. Next day under agon the nose lost that spicy note but the palette holding very nicely. More rounded today. — 9 years ago
Still holding up. — 10 years ago
Still very large! 1997 holding up incredibly well. — 10 years ago
1995 vintage ...holding up but drink now — 11 years ago
Last bottle of one of our favorites. Based on the last two, I think this is just past peak and would recommend drinking up if you're holding any. — 11 years ago
After a spirited tussle between myself and the Durand vs a dry and crumbly cork I was able to double decant this and segregate away the remnants of floating debris. I was immediately struck by the bouquet which was unmistakably borne from Cabernet Franc (and I believe this blend is less than 10%). It was a positive sign. The wine is completely intact and boasts ample fruit albeit waning acidity. Simple Concord grape, bruised black plum and sweet oak flavors are holding on 2 hours in. This has some time left, but not much. This is a testament to Opus One quality in the early days (I believe this was the 3rd or 4th vintage) and while I think the ‘87-‘97 era was their best, this is an profound example of an exemplary wine at age 37! — 8 years ago

Exceptional. Still holding on to so much fruit! — 8 years ago
Perfect wine for my sister's 23rd. Medium to dark garnet red with lighter edges. Interesting nose with leather, mushrooms, more savory notes, a little smoky and only a touch of fruit. Some forest floor as well. Well integrated flavors and tannins (6/10). Layered with tertiary notes, dried cherries, dried twigs and solid earthiness. Solid acidity, holding this wine together. Delicious at 23 years old. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2020. — 9 years ago
A classic Tuscan and by far the greatest year of the 20th century in Italy. Holding up surprisingly well and still some youth. — 10 years ago
1983 Haut Brion. A wonderful bottle. Earthy, Tobacco, Tar, Wet Brown Leaves, Dark fruit.. Still holding up very nicely.. #PessacLeognan #Bordeaux — 11 years ago
Pleasing and actually holding up quite nicely. Preferred it to the newer vintages in the vertical. That's not surprising hahaha — 11 years ago
Who says the 97's aren't holding up?!? Great bottle. — 12 years ago
Holding up so well. Another couple years in it for sure. — 8 years ago
Exceptional bottle. I was totally surprised by this intro level Cab 😮 bell pepper, asparagus, wet leaves and forest floor. Fruits start to fade away but still holding together. Savory goodness. Not too much depth but this was hard to beat <$20 range. Perfect time to drink this 2010. 14.5% alc — 8 years ago
From a magnum. Too young, a little different profile than what I think@of with the HS, a bit dry, lots of dusty tannin. I’m usually pretty good at picking this wine out blind, not sure I would have gotten this one right. Plenty of time if your holding one. — 8 years ago
Just enough fizz to open it without a corkscrew. Hint of almond and green, still holding a good amount of acid. — 8 years ago
Great wine from a great vintage. Holding up rather nicely with some good years left. Beautiful acidity/tannins...exactly what's missing since the mid/late 90's with all the Parker/Helen Turley disciples. Medium body. Prunes, salt, dark cherry in the nose. Those plus some judicious baking chocolate and cedar notes on the finish. Delicious. — 9 years ago
Surprise. 1997 is still alive. Nice maturity but plenty of fruit. Even holding its own the second night (and this was a half bottle... Must have been well cared for). Color is dark blood with brick edges. "Unfiltered" is an understatement... I could have planted a vineyard at the bottom of the bottle. — 10 years ago
I really don't think there's a better Sauvignon Blanc out there. 4 months later, continues to develop; continues to impress. The depth and complexity really are second to none. You'll pay a premium, but it's worth every penny. Two bottles left; holding one for the long-term just to see what it can do. — 10 years ago
Nice velvet nice drinking holding up pretty well pleasant — 10 years ago
Very soft and light for a beaucastel, but the leather and pepper are holding down the fort. — 11 years ago
Birthday wine. After 25 yrs this pretty Cab is holding up very well. Clean w dark fruits, mint and some spice. Cork did crumble but was able to salvage. @SilverOak memorable wine. — 11 years ago
