Presently surprised as I never know what I’m going to get with a Bedrock wine. Very dark color to the edge, nice dark fruits throughout and nice long smooth finish. Busy evening with friends over for dinner and everyone enjoyed the wine. — a year ago
The 2021 Bedrock Heritage Wine is a great expression of this site. Black cherry, chocolate, spice, leather and tobacco are front and center. This dark, virile Zinfandel-based field blend packs a serious punch. There's plenty of detail and nuance behind all of that intensity. The 2021 is a big wine, but also less monolithic than some previous editions. There's a bit more whole cluster in the 2021 than in the past, so perhaps that explains the wine's nuance. The 2021 is one of the best wines I have ever tasted from the Bedrock vineyard, and I say that as someone who is not yet fully convinced of the potential here. This is a tasty Napa Cabernet. Showing black fruits, cedar, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, chocolates, mocha and coffee.
Full-bodied and smooth with soft tannins with nice length on the finish.
Good by itself or with food. Showing a nice mouthfeel with nice complexity. Spicy and tangy.
This will be beautiful in 5 years.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

An absolute beauty. The perfume on this thing is exquisite. Violets, spicy pepper, and smokey bacon fat. Palate has a nice twist of funk at this early stage and ends with a solid tannic presence. I would blind this against any american syrah and guarantee it would hold its own, craziest part is it will only continue to develop. — 6 years ago
The ‘22 Karatas from Bedrock is a Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc from their eponymous vineyard. Pale gold with a nose full of honeysuckle and orchard fruit. That’s backed by mouth-filling melon and pear with a noticeable backbone. Excellent. — a year ago
13.5% ABV Salute to Lulu Peyraud of Domaine Tempier in France. Lulu’s father owned the vineyard , and she along with her husband took it over. Sadly we lost her in October 2020 at the age of 102 y/o. This is a blend of old vine Mataro and Grenache. Light salmon color, watermelon initially , later apple. Very nice! — 3 years ago
Strawberry with a little dark cherry maybe. Good balance. — 4 years ago
First, this wine was previously in a grey bottle, Why? Beginning with the 2017 vintage, the wine is in a clear bottle, which to me has a much better appeal, to see the wine! Fruit sourced from Monterey County, pale lemon-lime color with aromas of tropical and citrus fruits and slight biscuit notes. This wine is unoaked and fermented in stainless and concrete tanks. On the palate, crisp, with flavors of apple, melon and peach adding in some citrus zest. Balanced acidity, medium body and finish ending slightly on the creamy side. Drink young while its fresh! The 2023 Selección Especial Nº2 Victoria was sourced from a 1920-planted vineyard in Vélez-Málaga, Alta Axarquía, in the Sierras de Málaga. This late-harvest wine was aged seven months on the lees and bottled with 190 grams of sugar. Yellow in hue, it presents herbal aromas with peach and apricot notes and a faint hint of nard. Sweet and balanced on the palate, it offers an intense mouthfeel with a long-lasting savory finish. This is a delicate, well-crafted wine. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, September 2024)

RRV has never been one of my favorite Zin regions, but an old vineyard like this trumps that. Even at this young age the nose is lively, with deep spicy blackberry fruit and gravelly earth notes. intense and quite structured on the palate, with full body and nice acids. I’m drinking it way too young. It will age beautifully. 9.32 right now, likely higher in a few years. — 2 years ago
I’m a big fan of PNs from SLH and maybe see SB a second with some others but this Pali (under $20) bottling just kept on opening and ended up with a lot of sweet berries. If you don’t get Pali check them out and join their club. Great drinking whites and reds — 5 years ago
Beautiful garnet color with flashes of magenta. Ripe fruit on the nose with a hint of radish. Medium bodied, a little puckery and not overly sweet. Carbonic glou glou, as a reviewer said before. — 6 years ago

Fantastic. Enjoyed our last bottle of a case of 2013 on Christmas Eve. Sad it's gone. — 7 months ago
