Delicious better than A to Z — 5 years ago
Solid wine. Best I have had by A to Z. Nice cherry notes. Nice color, light in body. — 6 years ago
Third wine with Charles at De Toren. Set to be release in early 2018 similar to the Z.
Darker than the Z, deep and dark ruby red. Needed to open up a little bit on the nose. Gained some dark cocoa on the nose with minerality, pepper and dusty notes. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Darker berries on the palate with some black cherries, cassis and a touch savory in the backend. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2030.
Made up of around 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and around 16% Malbec, the rest is made up of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. — 6 years ago
Yes, there's still oak here, but it has seamlessly integrated for the most part. Which leaves a deeply savory, herbal, red fruited Cab Franc that doesn't shy away from adding a little spice to the leather and tobacco. Some days you want the rustic log around the campfire, other days you want the La-Z-Boy. Best years still ahead, I think. — 7 years ago
CVed 10/28/16. Obvious notes of that cab franc herbal and peppery notes. Under that some dark fruits. Dark Ruby color. Body of acids and elegant floral nose that are very ripe. Good finish of floral notes minerality, unlike the other cabs. Z Auction. Opened 2/9/17 and yes it still holds. The nose still has the Cab Franc character but better balanced and palate is supple yet firm with good structure and a sense of soft tannins. Long finish that seems to show that dust character? Yum. Upping the score from 9 to 9.2 — 8 years ago
I met the winemaker David last year. Fresh and crisp, unusual for a Prosecco, 100% Glera, pleasant aromas of stone and tropical fruits. On the palate pear and peach flavors, good bubble flow, on dryer side, good balance between fruit and crispness (I prefer a dry Prosecco) ending clean and elegant. Pricey compared to the others out there, but comparison is like apples to oranges. A very nice Prosecco, one of the very best I have tasted, worth the price. — 4 years ago
Pickles. Green veg. Black pepper. Underripe cherry. High acid here, and decent tannins. Didn’t drink as hot as I would expect for 14%. This could sit for quite a while, but I just had to open one tonight. Tight at first, decanted for two hours, would have taken more gratefully. — 5 years ago
Something different tonight, Karen and I decided on a Excellent Rioja from Spain. Tobelos 2013, which is 100% Tempranillo. Opened 30 minutes ahead. First impression Rioja had a Great Mouthfeel with loads of black fruits and a touch of spice box. The tannin here are mild and in perfect balance with the fruit. Also on back palate a little wood. Enjoyed with Cobb Salad with a white Balsamic dressing. Wine purchased at WineWorks and salad at HoneyGrow in our center. Bravo to this winery! CB-95 Rating in my book! PS brushing up on top flight Riojas, which we are going to Spain’s Famous Rioja Country in 2 weeks! #wineworks #spainishwine #honeygrow — 6 years ago
Second wine with Charles at De Toren. Set to be released in January 2018.
Deep ruby red with notes of cassis, mushrooms and dust on the nose. A touch green as well. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium plus bodied. Excellent structure and finesse on the palate with dark cocoa, red cherries, pepper and minerality. Long and lingering finish. Still a baby that will need a nice decant to open up. Drink till 2027.
Merlot led blend with around 53% Merlot then around 25% Cabernet Franc and the rest made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot. — 6 years ago
Easy to drink- went well with both a steak and pasta. Seemed well balanced and slightly fruity with minerals — 7 years ago
Pinot Noir Shootout after a long week in Wine Bizz at where @WineWorks Marlton. Well Roar vs Roar! Both 2014! Rosella vs Pisoni! See pics.. Rosellas comes across with 15-20 minutes nice plum, tart cherry a little restrained, Yup! Probably young but O Well! After 1 Hour really opens up! Great mouth feel, good acidity really opening up! Then we try the Pisoni 2014 next! See Pic! CB 95 AFTER 2 Hours Rosellas opened even More! Giving me a humble upgrade to 97-97+! It happens to Best of us. CB — 7 years ago
Fun fresh and fruity. Pretty sweet. Nice bubbles. Super cheap. Good balcony and sunshine all day wine — 4 years ago
I really like this one
Very complex from A to Z
Made in ceramic eggs
It has character, length, freshness
It has a very Italian feeling
It reminds me of a Massa vecchia vermentino called Ariento or a Dettori bianco(again vermentino)
I will be trying to buy more
I would love to buy magnums, u need big formats at hand with this wine — 5 years ago
Similar to a fruity Sauvignon Blanc. — 6 years ago
Stonestreet Upper Barn 2012 at is Best. Tropical Fruit galore, good underlying acidity, yes just the right touch of oak! Also watching the Eagles Beat NY Giants on Thursday Night Football!
