Just had chance to try this certain bottle of wine, very nice. It is not the kind of wine for daily drink, but a perfect one for ceremonies. Very smooth, like silk in your mouth. Beautiful spread autumn fruits, and was amazed by the flavor of liquorice and truffle. — 11 years ago

I've always loved this 2nd grow. It's Cabernet dominated blend ages slowly allowing older vintages to taste impeccable. 2004 was not a banner year for Bordeaux, but it offered good values on wines typically selling for over $100. This is a nice, youthful St Emilion that has not had the chance to develop the manure, bretty side. Still quite a bit of raspberry on the nose, black cherry on the entry. Wine is medium bodied. There was a 95 St Emilion that I was not able to record, and compared to that wine, this one was much more complicated and intricate. Tannins still rather present, but don't really mute the finish of the wine all that much. Not too sure that this one is worth the price tag. — 8 years ago

The Marquis is an estate adjacent to Leoville in St. Julien. It is not the 2nd label to Leoville Las Cases. I was impressed with structure and balance. Dusty and earth driven but abundant fruit. Excellent QPR. — 9 years ago
