@Paul K, I grew up in Europe, so was raised on Old World wines. My wife liked them, but as we tried North American wines, our tastes evolved - hers much more so. She doesn’t enjoy them any more and if I open one, it’s not going to go down well. Equally importantly, the Bdx wines typically need cellaring for a relatively long period before they are truly approachable. I’ve got no patience for that these days. So major factor is our palettes have evolved. A little sad but that’s it. Cheers.
@Vanessa thanks for the heads up on the Champagne. Got it at your Haskells. It was a fun night for sure! If you and @Deked1 are ever in Rochester give me a shout. It’s a fun group and I have 1 bottle of the Ruinart left. Happy New Year!
@Paul K Ah, I’m so glad it worked out to buy some at Haskell’s! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Dom Ruinart is not easy for us to find in Mn, usually. Also, you bet we’ll let you know the next time we’re down in Rochester! And please let us know if you’re ever in our neck of the woods!!
