See previous note 105 weeks ago. Australia’s premier example of a straight Viognier. Notes of Apricot and Honeysuckle. Quite luscious on the palate with low acid. Finishes with a skinnsy bitter note which is quite refreshing.

Honeysuckle, unctuous and textural. A medium to full bodied white. Handpicked and wild fermented in old French Oak. Yalumba have now been working with this varietal for 40 years in the Eden Valley which has proven to be an ideal terroir for Viognier. The best example of a straight Viognier available in Australia and Yalumba’s flagship white.

Patio pounder but not for the price. Muted stonefruits and apricots (weak aromatics) and high minerals. Never guessing viognier on this one. Drinks like a Sancerre. Good but going back to the classics next round.
