The bottle won’t let you down if it is a bottle of PYCM Hautes Cotes de Bourgogne. Merle & Morey are an unlikely, but brilliant pairing.

Oh baby. Straight up delicious, like cru Beaujolais for Burgundy Pinot, hard to put down. Not so cerebral but tasty juicy berries and mineral with silky texture and racy acidity.

Berries and rubbing alcohol nose. Off putting. Mouthfeel is completely different. Berries, damp forest floor, sweet berry layered finish. Nice.

Transparent pale ruby, gooseberries, almost-ripe wild strawberries, flint, sous bois. Unmistakably Burgundy. Joyeux Quatorze Juillet! 🇫🇷🍷🇫🇷🍷

Hugeeeee nose of decayed and rotten fruit. Like... Amazing. After you get used to it - a minty freshness. Spice. Eucalyptus. Kinda resembles a Clos Vougeot. Palette is an afterthought. Flat and odd bitter with too much acidity. The wine on the whole is disjointed but it's interesting and unique. A well earned 8.9

What I wrote last time...A tea of blueberry, unripe strawberry, tobacco, forest floor, and then a ripe berry finish. Nice layers...less tobacco this time. A bit more austere. Bourgogne.
