High expectations not fully met. The different components of this blend never really integrated, so I am at a loss about this wine. Perhaps it needs a lot more decanting. At the price, I feel it’s all marketing, so I am not really tempted to explore further.

Half price in the resto, so we went after it. Wifey loves this raucous expression. While I enjoyed it, I prefer a smidge of subtlety. Nose and palate is bombastic. If you’ve never tasted this, buckle up first!

History dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer & went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, & got hooked. A Grenache, Syrah & Petite Sirah blend. Aromas of fresh ripe red fruits with floral & spice. On the palate flavors of cherry & raspberry with cacao & espresso notes on sweet savory soft tannins, well balanced, lingering finish ending with fruit & toasty oak. Nice! Consistent Quality!

Heavy on the cherry. Finishes with a hint of chocolate. Rides long tannins but develops complexity through the meal.

Interesting blend of Syrah, Petite Syrah and Grenache. Deep purple color. First word that came to my mind was “plump.” Intense and ripe raspberry and dark plum aromas and flavors. Hints of beef jerky, dried roses and cola. Touch of black pepper on the extremely long finish. Soft tannins. Quite jammy but bright and expressive.

Really smooth red blend, but still prefer slander pinot.

Not quite up to expectations, but not bad. Layers of dark fruit, then spice (cinnamon prominent), on the nose, with a lemon note. Even, medium weight on the palate, with a nice sweet element. At Dena and Dan's, bottle #1.

Wet and hearty. Love the texture

I can almost hear the grapes being crushed
