2011 Nine Suns, their first vintage. I feel like the last bottle I had of the ‘11 tasted better. Loads of cherry, tremendously structured with perfect balance of acidity and still strong and dense tannins. Drinks smoothly but missing the usual feeling I get from Nine Suns. Nevertheless, Nine Suns is always something special. UPDATE: Apparently this bottle just needed an 1 hr plus of air time. After that it was singing! Updating rating.

Drinking beautifully now that’s it’s in its prime. Ripe blue and black fruit, softened tannins, structure holding it all together wonderfully. Oak and vanilla, minerality. Soft mouthfeel. Medium finish.

This wine is incredible. Loads of creme de cassis, blackberry and blueberry. Silky smooth that just begs for more. This vintage is hitting its stride, so lovely.
