Elegant and persistent, this is sappy and juicy blackberry, violets, tobacco, graphite and licorice packed with alluring floral and spice notes. The palate is seamlessly front to back with amazing purity on the finish.

Borders on funk but toes the line in a perfect way. Mocha, almost a savory sage taste. Pretty perfect

Slight Brett, but great complexity. Bitter in the mouth, kind of vegetal in a good way.

Wonderful, classic Tuscan expression, fermented completely dry with tight yet grainy tannins, balanced by sage, mint and great mid-palate weight, finishing long, youthful but very promising. Easy 95 p.

The 2010 Eneo. This is prime drinking window for the 2010. It will age well for another decade, but is such a gem to drink now.

The Sangiovese gives elegance and the Montepulciano gives power to this full bodied and silky wine, with dark fruit, licorice and tobacco flavour.

Montepeloso Eneo 2010. Drunk over a couple of days. Noticed very little change. Dark as the night and the rim doesn’t show any sign of brickening. Powerful stuff. Lots of dark fruits, cherry, blackberry, plum, but also smoke, cedar, coffee and spices. In the mouth shows full body and medium plus tannins and in terms of flavors also some crushed stone and black pepper. I felt the acidity wasn’t totally supporting the wine as the finish was kinda “hot.” Perhaps too big of a wine for my palate but I have another bottle so I am curious to see how it will evolve.

Huge. Muscular. Dense. A little clumsy. Great concentration of leathery dark fruit, especially mid palate. Mildly herbacious accents supplemented by notes of black tea, gun powder, bark chips, and graphite. Considering the strong start, there is sadly no finale, as the finish is a little weak.
