Liquid Farm
Vogelzang Vineyard Mourvedre Rosé

Everyone needs to know about Liquid Farm wines. Definitely one of my favorite producers in st Maria hills/central coast. Old world style Pinot and chard, and a killer rose. Available in mags too .

Nice rose, low alcohol, strawberry, watermelon, and med acidity. Bit of the rustic Mourvèdre coming through.

2017. I enjoyed a rosé with the first courses of Succotash’s tasting menu the last time I was here and this one went great as well!

Nov 6th, 2019Rosé really, really does not have to be crap. It can be refined and something special. Delicate light pink in the glass with an atypically complex nose of watermelon, orange blossom, white flowers, and bright citrus. Wonderful acidity and super crisp, this is exceedingly dry and fun. There’s a subtle smokiness that permeates throughout and gives depth to the wine. The mid palate is all bright, ripe fruit which leads way to notes of peaches, guava fruit, tart cranberry, and stone minerality. A bottle of this doesn’t last very long. I don’t know if I’m prepared to say it’s my favorite Rosé but it’s certainly up there.

Fun night celebrating a dear friend’s birthday at Lucio’s BYOB over dinner. Everyone brought their own bottles to share with the group that was gathered.
.
Since we squandered the bubbles early on in the dinner we used this as the palate cleanser. It had been years since I last visited Liquid Farm’s Rosé so I was eager to see if it was as good as I had remembered it. It was. This selection is deep, broad, fleshy, and voluptuous with ample notes of juicy red fruits, spices, and coastal sea minerals.
