Last β€˜12 in my cellar! Blend of 97% Cab Sauv, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cab Franc, aged for 20 months in French oak (55% new), deep Ruby with aromas of dark dried fruit with notes of floral and spices. An ideal growing season in 2012, the palate shows dense ripe dark berry fruit with a touch of leather, cinnamon, espresso, mushroom and cacao. Well integrated with fine structured tannins, the wine is complex yet enjoyable, aged well still has room to run. Long finish ending with ripe fruits and oak.

It is Sunday evening and the first wine we have opened is the 2012 Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This was a gift from one of my life long friends that is here in Palm Springs.

The nose has notes of black fruit, black cherry, blackberry, cassis, oak and a mineral note although a bit on the weak side.

On the palate the black fruit is prominent with black cherry, blackberry, some licorice, vanilla, smoky oak and earth notes.

The wine is medium to full bodied with medium acidity, medium smooth tannins, a very drinkable wine right now.

The weekend is at an end and the workweek is upon us. Have a great week and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷

Ripe black fruits dominate the nose mixed with some tobacco leaves and dark chocolate. Very high acidity and dry. A little bit lean for me but still a very solid wine. 2012 vintage

This afternoon we are enjoying a nice Cabernet from Kathryn Hall. Nose is very expressive with notes of blackberry jam, currant, licorice and a nice smokey oak. On the palate gives notes of black cherry, blackberry, currant, black pepper and a slight spice. Has a medium acidity, medium tannins with a good round mouth feel with a long pleasing finish.
