Smells like Chinese green vegetables. Holy shit this has aged horribly. Oof. I’ve had one great bottle of this early on and each one has gotten progressively shittier. This is the green your parents told you about to avoid in Loire reds. I’m afraid to put it in my mouth. But for all my Delectable followers I will! Okay, the palate is not bad. Juicy but very dilute and only a hint of green. Right now it’s a 7.5. That nose is vile.

Has that high-toned, wafty scent of PN grown on limestoney soil: almost confectionary cherry/pomegranate fruit, crisp rhubarb, and nose-tingling crushed stone. Tight, minerally, and almost austere in the mouth, but with very nice length and some nice fruit at the end. Seems very youthful for a 6-year old Sancerre rouge.

I love this wine but I can see where it might turn some people off. The nose is a bit horsy but under that is a deep core of dark berry fruit. Very floral with a nice meatiness to it. Also maybe a hint of greenness but having had this 6 months ago the green integrates shortly. There is a Volnay quality to the nose. Very pretty. Luscious and full of red fruits on a bed of minerals on the palate. Terrific complexity and firm tannins. Seems a bit wound up but all the components are there for this to flesh out over the next 2-3 hours.

Incredible Sancerre Rouge. Lovely nose that echoes a fine Volnay. Very complex and savory. Palate is all silk with tremendous berry fruit. Very powerful and concentrated and will need to open over the next few hours, but terrific long finish and great acid. Brilliant wine.

Maybe needs time. Pretty charmless and hard. Some fruit, but not much.
