Saw this in the Delectable thread the other day and realized I haven’t tried the -15s with food and a long decanting. In a nutshell, high quality, too young, as expected. Light ruby slight brick color; youth- and powerful nose of not tar&roses but sharper, like diesel exhaust & Tom Ford’s Rose Prick - an excellent mix; very high acids and tannins on the palate, dominated by unripe strawberries; finish is of medium length and quite chest-burning despite the indicated 13.5% alc. content. As 2015 was very hot in the summer, one might expect overripe grapes and lower acidity, but not in this beauty. A half-a-decade or more in the cellar should do wonders.

Very approachable for a young Barolo. 30 months in Slovenian oak. Great value here.

Dark fruit, earth, floral notes. Strong tannins, dusty on the finish. Rich dark color with cranberry, black cherry flavors with good acidity.

Value banger. Really fresh black cherry, vanilla oak, dust and earth. Medium body, sinewy tannins. Drinking well now but plenty of legs.

Great bouquet - definitely get the initial cherry and cranberry. But my palate isn’t well-studied so struggle to capture/identify what follows. Just a new quarantine hobby.

10/2020. Good wine. Nice flavor and finish. Paired well with the snapper at Mr. Friendly’s. Next night, tried to drink the second half of the bottle and it was “sour”??

This bottle of Albe Barolo was excellent. It had scents of fresh cherry, and tasted as if it was just on the cusp on becoming tart. This, a lighter amount of tannins, and a delicate pepper after taste lent itself well to this refreshing red even in the heat of the summer. With each sip one can smell this wine, which enriches the experience. It paired extremely well with the meaty halibut we ate with it. While I’m not one to venture into Italian wines too often because of regional and varietal ignorance, this is one wine I would have again AND I want to know more about.
