13’ Ferren Silver Eagle PN. I’m all in on Winemaker Matt Courtney!
1st vintage. FULL - BODIED
Wild raspberry, cherry, roasted cranberries , dried herd, throw in a modest helping of acidity & spices. You have yourself a winner.

This is complex PN with intense structure. Wouldn’t pour this for a “crowd” of Sonoma Pinot lovers. It’s not for everybody. Bruiser of a Pinot to say the least!
Decant for 1 -2 hours. Drink or hold 6/8 years.

If you're not on this mailing list, then get on it (if you can)... made by former marcassin protege, Matt Courtney, this stuff is insanely good. Plenty of fruit, texture and nuance. It has so many aromas and flavors... clove, cinnamon, strawberry, licorice, all spice. It's so much fun to see how this evolves in glass...
super young, I suspect this will age for many many years but it was fun to try today..:/ nice!!!!

You have to be a fan of big red fruit Cali style Pinot to enjoy this. And I did! Glad I reordered.

Opened by my good friend @Charles Gudas at Circa 1886 in Charleston (finally getting around to posting a few). My first Ferren. Beautiful expressive nose, mid palate of candied strawberries. Lengthy finish. Best new Pinot I've tasted in a while. I prefer Matt's Ferren Pinots to his Ferren chards, and prefer his Arista chards to Ferren chards.

Not flamboyant, somewhat subdued, but still hit great notes and will only get better.

Inaugural release from this new producer/winemaker of Marcassin fame. Cranberry, pomegranate, sour cherry, a touch of oak. Wonderful balance, with a very long finish.
