Perfumed nose of sandalwood, sweet wood smoke, bbq bacon, leaves, cigar box, leather, violet, talcum, melange of just ripe red/black berry fruits with some hints of dried character, and asian spices. Notes of new leather and boysenberry on the nose. Nice structure, which presents earth notes, vanilla, black cherries, spice box and tobacco. Tannins are soft and tucked in - classic old-world example.

Very expressive and opened up quickly. Even in a lean year and relatively young this was drinking great.

Smoke meat, spice, vanilla and cherry on the nose. The taste is almost full bodied, balanced, fruit forward. Nice example of the region. Glad I bought a case. Can’t wait to see the evolution over the next decade.
