Simply one of the greatest wine values on the market year after year.
Dark olive. Herb garden. Smoked earth. Plum. Black berry. Mineral. Medium body. Great texture.

Give me a Chave (Sélection) any time. The nose has some thyme, blackberry and licorice. Smooth out of the gate with loads of dark fruit, a little eucalyptus and a pinch of pepper on the long finish. Tannins are perfectly integrated. 👌

bright, ripe purple and black fruits. fruitiness blows off quickly. comparatively lean palate, high acid, firm tannins want more time in bottle

Always solid and this was mid-age and ready to enjoy at a fair price.

Dark peppery blue and black. Solid and good now. This is always a QPR wine... and it's Chave.

Leads with smoke and meat. Followed by blackberries, black plums, and black pepper. A slight touch of funk. So f’ing good.

If i needed a wine to serve to a big group of people with a wide variety of experience and tastes, this would be it. Not too geeky, nice balance of fruit and earth, medium minus well-integrated tannins, nice body to keep you warm on a chilly evening. Paired well with duck bolognese and warm bread pudding.

Popped and poured; a follow-up to the 2015 Domaine des Thalabert. Mostly blue and black fruits with violets on the nose. Blue fruit and black pepper on the palate. This was comparatively a touch thinner, less powerful and lacks the complexity of the Thalabert. Still a really good bottle though.
