Signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Pouring a glass the wine was clean with a deep dark ruby red color, comprised of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec, aged for 22 months in French oak (85% new). Aromas of ripe fruit and sweet spices were wafting up teasing me to take a sip. The palate showed juicy blackberries, blueberries, sweet black cherries and currants. This wine was big, full tannins, complex and well balanced. Notes of leather, cacao, coffee beans and earthy.

Wow! Big velvety mouthfeel. Medium plus alcohol but stands strong with the tannins and oak. Big wine with ripe black fruit, tobacco, baking spices, and vanilla.

Classic nose of leather with a hint of vanilla extract. Lots of pencil lead and dark chocolate cherry cordial on the palate. Structure is firm and tannins are not fully resolved (but I love a little tannin). Still young with plenty of time to go. Love our friends at Darioush.

Decanted 6 hours - soooooooper tasty

Extremely balanced and well made. Not a showstopper - just a beautiful bottle of wine.

Holy Schmokes!!! Needs serious decanting and was better throughout the evening. Dark fruit, lots of smoke, charcoal and tobacco. Not sure it's worth the price.

Bold is a great word... When they talk about big Napa cabs, this one always comes to mind.
