2016: Surprisingly good Barolo, one of the less expensive Damilano bottlings. Classic sour cherry, tar, leather flavors with tight tannins that loosen up after 4 hours. Good concentration and mouthfeel for this 2016 version with better mikes ahead. $45? At JFW.

Not a favorite. Too tart - even after several hours. Seemed to be underripe. Light on the cherry and raspberry with tar, tobacco, and earth on the palate. Tannins we’re fine - lingering and balanced. Disappointing for a 2016 vintage.

Excellent value, surprised at how well this wine was integrated despite its age. Black cherry, blackberries, mushroom, and vanilla. @ Massimo Camia
