Col Solare
Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. A very pretty color.
Very aromatic nose right out of the bottle with black fruits, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, light cedar, spices and chocolate notes.
Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, blackberries, black currants, light wood, spices, coffee, light earth, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, peppercorn, licorice and herbs.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 8 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain is drinking gorgeously now. Rich and elegant. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.
I had this vintage 3 years ago, and it is drinking even better now. Drinking almost at its peak, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
Wine Spectator 92 points. Robert Parker 93 points.
Spicy and fruit forward. Tangy, interesting and very entertaining.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. Aged in all new French oak barrels for 22 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
$130.

Holy cow, this is an exceptional wine. Inky color with hints of rust and electric pink in the rim. Soft aroma of raspberry tart, strawberry jam, red cherry, red currant, tobacco, & subtle violet. Pure silk on the palate, with a velvety grip on the finish. Notes of stewed plum, jammy red fruit, chocolate, subtle baking spice, and purple candy. Absolutely beautiful wine. Lovely to sip, but big enough to stand up to a hearty protein. Thank you, Ashley!

Apr 4th, 20238/2022. Very nice Washington Cab. Nice on the palate and flavorful. Paired well with the filet at Hall’s Chophouse.
