Clos De La Roilette
Clos de la Roilette Griffe du Marquis Fleurie Gamay

Such a great bottle but overshadowed but some other gems that night. Opened up beautifully too.

Tasted both the '12 & '13 vintage. 2013 has a lush texture with a lot of grip. Fruit is deep red and the oak is noticeable. Should inter-grate nicely over the next 3-5yrs. The 2012 was showing beautifully. Really concentrated red and black fruit, oak much less noticeable and starting to round out a bit. Gamay's worth aging!

Mar 25th, 2015Probably my favorite Cru Beaujolais bottling. Complex and layered with flavor. Held it's own following a 2004 Premier Cru Vosne Romanee. Most of my dinner guests thought it was another Burgundy.
