Medium Amber gold with quite wide rim . Crystallised peel , saffron , not overly aromatic , quite restrained and with spiced citrus too. On the palate this is lighter and less sweet than you would imagine from the nose but with good balanced acidity , notes of caramel , spiced citrus peel , touch of oak , quite simple and one dimensional, slightly short finish. This doesn’t have the density or sweetness to go much further , so I would drink this now and over the next few years . Commendable for a 2002 however but quite a lightweight Suduiraut.

Il manque un petit quelque chose, le nez est expressif, orange confite, abricot, caramel. Mais en bouche c’est plus discret, unidimensionnel, on percoit de l’orange brûlé, casonnade, une touche de vernis. Il manque un certaine acidité et de la complexité. Mais somme tout, un petit verre apres le repas est toujours bien apprécié

Not the best bottle of this I've had. Another reward from Total Wine for a long week on the road. Nevertheless, a nice deep Sauternes and a pleasant surprise.
