Tonight's wine is the 2010 Château Poujeaux Moulis-en Médoc. 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

On the nose is beautiful aromas of blackberry, bing cherry, plum, strawberry, black currant, ginger, vanilla, violets, musk, mushroom and earth.

On the palate is lush dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, herbs, spice, graphite, licorice and earth.

This is a full bodied wine with a smooth mouth feel, medium + acidity and medium + round tannins that are mouth coating and drying with a long clean fresh finish. I really like this wine, it was a real surprise for me. Maybe being a 2010 I should have expected more, but what a great surprise. Have a great weekend and stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Dark cassis, huge tannins, dry leather, black tea, minerals are round and soft. Fruits finish juicy and ripe. 10 a grand vintage but one that needs to cellar much more than others. This needs another 5-7 before it starts to sing.

Vintage 2010 - leather, cedar, laurel, classic smell, complete and fine. Bitter in aftertaste. Vivid wine.

Pretty tasty stuff. And nice that you can grab a 6 yo Bordeaux in hb from the local shop.
