Pristine, bright and drum tight. Kudos to Aubert. Nine years in and this is still youthful, it’s like it was bottled a year ago.

Medium golden yellow in appearance. A bit sweet on the nose with butter, brioche, baked apples and lemon curd. Rich acidity (6/10) and full bodied. Complex with layers of lemon curd, apples, rich peaches, white flowers and a touch of gravel. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2027.

My first Sugar Shack. Very mineral driven at first, but that has died off. One of my favorite noses of burnt popcorn kernel and lemon zest. Quite lemon dominant on the palate...more than any other Aubert chard I’ve had. Small bit of cream on the finish. Very balanced.

I’m seeing far too many oxidized examples from this producer recently. Well stored, relatively young... what’s the malfunction here?

Rich and concentrated and much less confection than the '13. This seems organic and less manipulated. Honeysuckle times 10, ripe green apple, apricot chutney. Viscous and oily. Let it warm a bit and indulge.
