Similar to two previous notes. An outstanding delicious natural wine. Pale Orange in colour with a little cloudiness. Dried grass, honeysuckle, apricot and skinnsy aromas. Luscious on the palate with a skinnsy bitterness. Savoury peach, quince and apricot. This is an example of an excellent natural skin contact wine and why young people in particular love wines such as this. Thoroughly delicious. No need for further cellaring.

Similar notes to 118 weeks ago. A dirty mid Orange/Tangerine in colour - a little cloudy. Aromas of apricot and mouldy orange. Skinnsy apricot flavours with mild acid. A skins contact white wine fermented in clay amphora in the ground. We visited there a few years ago in Sicily. Finishes with a trace of bitterness from the skins. Natural wines - when they get them right they can be quite good but having just done a week of vintage in Coonawarra at Bellwether - you need to take risks with natural wine.

Cloudy pale to mid gold in colour. A skins contact, white wine fermented in Clay Amphora in Sicily. Aromas of apricot, orange blossom and a little white pepper. On the palate a lot going on - full flavoured at only 12.0% alcohol and low acid - apricots and cumquat with the skins bitterness to finish off. Unique and an absolute mouthful of flavour. Can’t see any reason for cellaring it.

Nose of dried flowers, fino sherry and green tea. Notes of cider and autolysis detract just a bit- as they make the wine seem simple (which it isn’t)- but I’m sure the natural wine hive mind will disagree on that point. Still, quite saline, focused and super long. Imagine a few years of aging will bring added weight and richness. #occhipinti #sicily

An orange beauty here with floral aromatics. Lots of peach on the palate with a soft earthiness on the finish. Orange peel and a touch of honey in a cloudy glass for drinking now. Great entry level, skin contact white from a stellar producer.

Really overdelivers for the price. Hazy gold color, white flowers and lemon verbena on the nose, exotic palate of grapefruit, tangerine, stone fruit and honey. Would be wonderful with any regional cuisine ringing the Mediterranean. Don’t recall ever being disappointed by Ochippinti

I’ve had bottles of the 2015 and the 2012, this one had a bit more va than the others, also more tannic. What a nose of flowers. I didn’t take any notes but I didn’t like it as much as I had in the past. I will keep drinking her stuff though. I’ve had a dozen of her wines that we’re great.
