We had some exciting news last week so Mr. S brought this wee bottle home. And Louis Roederer Brut Premier just so happens to be one of my favourite non-vintage champagnes on the market. When I write these notes I typically write them at the time of drinking the vino then edit and post later. Some of my unedited tasting notes, despite not being in my normal format seem to sum it up so I'm leaving this one as is to live in the moment!

Happy New Year! What a brilliant way to bring in 2017 - with a bottle of 2004 Louis Roederer Brut Rosé. My first time saying note for the year! I picked this up a few weeks ago from Chateau Guildford for around the $120 mark.

On the eye it's a peach colour with a very fine stream of bubbles up the centre of the glass. On the nose I picked up aromas of a baked strawberry tart, slivered almonds and lemon citrus. The palate has a lovely silky texture with a nice balance of creaminess and acidity which provides depth and freshness. I'd buy it again!
