Patataj Pet Nat 2020

Winnica Silesian, Patataj 2020, pet nat (weisser and roter riesling).
Orange wine made in a pet nat style. Hipster wine from Poland... which I actually quite like ! Some bready, yeasty notes on the nose (brioche) along with apricot, peche, honey, there is also a tiny almost meaty, umami, salty touch too. The palate shows little fuzziness (the wine is 5 year-old), nice apricot, peachy honey notes, good width and a stong acid drive. There is also that salty, meaty touch that adds a bit of complexity. The finish is fresh and fruity, with also that salty note that carries on. It's really well made and super delicious. I would have loved a stronger fizziness.

Szumiący Riesling 2021

Winnica Wieliczka, dry Riesling semi sparkling 2021.
No notes. Polish Riesling bubbly in a dry and laser focused backbone style. Citrusy and peary nose. Served along oysters, it did a great job !

Chardonnay 2021

Christmas dinner part 2. Served along seafood (oysters, sea snails, shrimps, crab, langoustines...) good pairing. This is a good chard from Poland, a bit on the richer side of things, with a lower acid drive and some tropical, yellow fruits both on the nose and on the palate. The nose is particularly inviting with honeyed roasted pineapple slices notes. Really good ! — 5 months ago
