Whistlepig

The Boss Hog Black Prince

If you can handle cask strength this is a nice one, finally opened after well over a year of buying, give it a splash of spring water

I’ve only had a couple of the Whistlepig line and both were exceptional! Don’t think I could handle too much of cask strength though before my tasting notes would diminish...

Trellis Red Blend 2015

Wonderful Cab Sav, Franc, Merlot blend with exquisite full flavor. Gift from my new boss, one of her favorites. — 6 years ago

Luc Belaire

Rare Rosé Blend

So good. This Rosé is how I channel Rick Ross. Underripe strawberry and sour cherry flavors. Didn't get much on aroma. Dry and acidic for the summer party, sweeping the deck, club banger, or back alley with my black bottle boys. Rich forever. Forever compassionate. Don't call it medicinal, but you may be tempted. Domaine Durieu

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2015

Lilacs and berries, fresh altitude air, and of course, allergy meds that allow this aroma to come through.

Deep black berry, prune, smoke, graphite. The elegance of this heavy handed beauty is astonishing. Smooth across the tongue, with a bit of raspy tannins that come out and let the acidity know who’s the boss. Highly enjoyable.

Salix Chenin St. Saphorin 2016

Color : White
Wine estate : Domaine Louis Bovard
Designation : Saint-Saphorin
Name : Salix Chenin Blanc
Country : Switzerland
Vivino : 4.5/5
Note : Louis Bovard remains the boss in the Vaudoise region with this magnificent Salix. A pale yellow color, a mineral nose with a touch of citrus. On the palate, happiness, joy and wonder. More seriously, a nice roundness with salty and fruity notes. Just magic!

Juste magique !

Agree, in fact, from my experience anything with @Daniel Johnnes name on the back is punching way above its price point. Check out the Dominque Lafon Bourgogne blanc if nick still has some. It's off the charts good for the money

Domaine Drouhin

Dundee Hills Pinot Noir

Established in 1987, DD Oregon is owned by famed Burgundy producer, Maison Joseph Drouhin. Hand-crafted by fourth generation winemaker, Veronique Drouhin-Boss. Ruby with fruit and sweet floral scents, very French in style. On the palate cherry and blueberry with pepper and earthy notes. Young but integrated tannins, well defined, elegant with underlying richness, long finish.

The Boss Yolo County Petite Sirah Blend 2016

Little bacon on the nose. Nice blackberry pie too. Rich and ripe. Black strap molasses. Full. Extracted. Bombastic. But tasty too. All the fruit and oak come together for a harmonious experience. Like loud rock n roll in your car. Turn it up and sing along... — 5 years ago

Neal Family Vineyards

One Lane Bridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Saw 3 of these in the boss' cellar tonight and thought I would give it another try. My impressions of it were pretty darn good a year ago, and OH MAMA they're even better this year. This wine is NOT over the hill. If it's over the hill, it wasn't stored correctly. This wine was DELICIOUS. Ran the table tonight and we pretty much stopped opening wines and opened up all 3 of these from the cellar. Dark black fruit, grilled meat, smoky characteristics up front. This wine is JAM PACKED with a flinty middle and finish. Tannin had completely resolved, therefore I don't believe there is any more than 3-4 years left in this wine. First bottle drank incredibly well over a two-hour period. Finished with a flinty blackberry and cocoa. I have zero of these left in my personal collection! — 7 years ago

Clos Canarelli

Amphora Corse Figari Nielluccio Sciacarello 2014

Needs a couple hours of aeration. Don't jump the gun. And then...EPIC. Face....melted.

It's Niellucciu + Sciaccarellu + some co-planted Corsican heirloom varieties, vinified and raised in amphorae. No SO2 at harvest or bottling. Pure, velvety, deep, caressing southern Corsican masterpiece from a boss who continues to improve each vintage.
