I’m not sure Delectable knows which wine this is- 2010 MSR white label; a small low yield “crown of the hill” parcel of the estate. Been saving this guy and holy mother of god did it reward. I venture a guess that at 8 years old it could be in its “prime” window but it absolutely could go another decade. This wine made me a little sad that we might not get another cold vintage in Oregon. It was so stunning and so pure it took my breath away. Not an understatement in any way. — 8 years ago

Black cherry, cocoa, soft spice. Just delicious. — 10 years ago
Big, juicy, and fresh on the nose. Abv was out of whack and fruit was slowly dying on the palate. Enjoyable. #bucklin #syrah #oldhillranch — 11 years ago

Bottle no. 04760 (of 22512).
You need to enjoy this with an open mind.
Most would probably say this is over the hill but personally I enjoy the "skeleton" of aged CA Chardonnays.
At age 22 there's naturally no baby fat, oak or alcohol to distract your palate but just the framework of a super solid and balanced wine. — 9 years ago
I really enjoyed this wine. It's a sweet wine but I feel the higher alcohol content (12%) evens it out. If you like peaches and like sweet wine I'd recommend. — 10 years ago
Candied lemon peel and donut peach along with saline, marzipan, and fresh celery flavors. A judicious use of French oak frames the beauty of this limestone-soiled, windy site in the southern part of Napa Valley. — 11 years ago
Love me some Bucklin. Great wines. Great sense of place. Shame this isn't around anymore. — 11 years ago

Very nice flavor, but a bit too light. — 7 years ago
A very dark and deep color for a PN. Juicy cherry with spice and rose notes. Not earthy. Like it. — 8 years ago

The 2016 Syrah Sonoma-Hillsides has been nothing less than stunning on the three occasions I have tasted it so far. A wine of extraordinary purity and depth, the 2016 dazzles from the very first taste. The richness and power are simply breathtaking. Bacon fat, smoke, grilled herb and lavender are woven into a graceful, seamless core of inky blue/purplish fruit. Even with all of its intensity, the 2016 remains remarkably light on its feet. The Sonoma-Hillsides is a blend of fruit from Castelli-Knight Ranch, Griffin's Lair and Walker Vine Hill, done with 100% whole clusters and aged in a combination of concrete and neutral oak, with no SO2. I am not sure how the 2016 will age, but I am also not sure it will matter, as most bottles will be long gone before that is an issue. Quite simply, the Sonoma-Hillsides is a total pleasure bomb and a modern-day benchmark for Syrah in California. Don't miss it! (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2018) — 8 years ago
2003 Merry Edwards 30th Anniversary Pinot Noir. From Merry: "Three distinguished vineyards provided grapes for this special wine. 72% came from the last vintage harvested at Windsor Gardens, blended with 21% Olivet Lane and 7% Quail Hill Ranch. These venerable old vines have all seen more than thirty vintages and harmonize in celebration of my first three decades of winemaking. I made just 333 cases of this luscious wine." A gift from a friend, bricky appearance showing some age. Bright cherry cola and rose petals on the nose. On the palate, black cherry, boysenberry, clove, caramel, mocha and some earthy notes. Fruity without being jammy. Good acidity. Rich and velvety. Well-structured with medium tannin. Best description: delicate and graceful. Lengthy and enjoyable finish. — 9 years ago

Bordeaux-like barnyard nose. Excellent. — 9 years ago
Loved this estate ever since it was windy hill winery and we walked away with cases of an 06 Pinot for 5-6$ a bottle. This 2010 is just as good! — 10 years ago
