Currently about 5 hours east of Melbourne in east Gippsland tasting this brilliant William Downie Pinot Noir. See several previous Delectable notes from earlier vintages. This wine manages to combine light to medium weight with medium plus intensity. Red fruited with Sous Bois. Downie is a gifted winemaker working in an excellent terroir for Pinot Noir. Would like to have more access to his wines up in Queensland. — 6 months ago

Classic pinot color with a lighter body than the typical. Strawberry and oak, mildly spicy. — 6 months ago
Exceptional quality, Ruby red deep color, great aroma and best with food. Highly recommend Cabernet. — 7 months ago
Nice example of a good FLX Cabernet Franc. — 8 months ago
Lovely bottle of the ‘87 opened May 2019. I don’t have much experience with older vintages but seemed to have aged well although maybe a bit past it’s prime. Smooth and balanced with good depth of flavor. Perfect for a rich beef dinner with smashed Yukon golds and gravy. — 5 years ago
Lovely balanced acidity, lemon, slate and flintiness. Slight stone fruit. Great body for its age. Loved this wine! — 4 months ago
Very nice, simple and tasty, complex as it warms. Marley would have liked it very much, so it was perfect for sipping during Christmas Eve cooking — 6 months ago
In the pocket w/long life ahead: solid Napa CS - usually priced out of these wines, but I picked this up years ago and decided to see where it was: super inky, not a sign of age, very generous fragrant nose right away, lots of [chambord] liqueur like blackberry, black cherry, black raspberry, cassis, and well integrated oak. Rich luscious viscous on palate, finely grained tannins, loads of fruit from nose and a lengthy finish. Perfect w/ribeye — 8 months ago
Less acidity than I am used to I. The Vaulorent. But still an almost ideal pairing with oysters. — 3 years ago
Rangy and effervescent. — 5 years ago
