Austrian Gewürztraminer from 2006, 13.5%. Excellent color, bright and intense. In the nose the botrytis is not too excessive, and there are pleasant notes of eglantine. In the mouth the right balance between sweetness and acidity. — 13 years ago

VDP auction bottling. Hard to describe this one as its weightless and in complete balance. There's no hard edges anywhere, but still one of the most hardcore wines that I've ever tasted. The acid level tips the scales and its tart citrusy profile does include some tropical fruits but this this wine is all about its acid drive and nervous minerality. Unique. — 11 years ago
