For an entry level appellation west coast Pinot, this is right down the middle of the fairway. Ruby in the glass with cedar, birch wood, sweet cherry and cola on the nose. The palate is a bit darker bringing on sweet tobacco, black cherry and a rhubarb tart spice. I think this is $45’ish/bottle, so in terms of QPR, I’ll buy Rivers-Marie SC bottle all day over this, and while I’m not with AGalloni’s 93 rating, I’m not too far off. — 7 years ago
Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee lunch...always such a treat to attend. This week, Dan hosted. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All blind as usual.
Gosh...I think these Marcassin chards (and pinots) are probably desert island wines. I went back and forth between CdP white or a Chardonnay...I ultimately ended on Chardonnay and said if this is west coast, it could only be Marcassin. Quite a bit of sulfur here to go alongside a rich, butterscotch nose and a full-bodied palate showing smoked hazelnut notes. — 7 years ago
Can't lie. Drinking straight out of the can. But it's 100 degrees outside. This pure Michigan IPA has a copper hue and a nice malty backbone not present in West Coast IPA's. Centennial hops spice up the citrus and give it muscle. — 9 years ago
Full malt character- much more body than you might expect from an IPA. Lactic palate, not too resinous — 9 years ago
Drank 3/5/19. Paired well with shrimp.
My go to every night chardonnay. Right now at around $11, an excellent buy. I enjoyed this vintage perhaps a touch less than others, but overall a great wine and an outstanding value.
Nose of light tropical fruits, a touch of citrus and butterscotch. Palate medium + body with pear, lemon curd, buttery notes, and a hint of oak. A nice balance for those who enjoy a bit of oak in their Chardonnay.

Stone IPA is a classic West Coast IPA from San Diego the Mecca of many great beers. This bold, hop forward IPA will never be mistaken for a more refined East Coaster. With its absolutely tantalizing hop bitterness, piney tones and vibrancy this is a big bold awesome IPA. If you like IPAs like I do add this to your list. Touring the many wonderful San Diego breweries is on my bucket list. @Bill Bender Bill this one is for you Cheers 🍻 — 7 years ago

One of my favorite California Right Bank Bordeaux Blends. Cherry, earthy, mushroom. Beautifully balanced. — 7 years ago
Solid Pinot. Way closer to Burgundy than a lot of the West Coast Pinots. Smooth and balanced. Very interesting undertones. Polished and elegant. James Suckling gave this wine 95 pts, a bit of grade inflation perhaps. Upped my rating 11/22/18 to 92 after revisiting this wine when pairing it with our Thanksgiving meal. Delicious! — 7 years ago

Nice flavors but could use some acid punch — 9 years ago
Dry and Smokie. Has subtle black licorice like flavor (plumb, blackberries, mocha and vanilla). Did I mention this wine is dry... In a good way. — 9 years ago
A really good Pinot Noir. It's also a great value. — 9 years ago
