En magnum with Johannes Leitz on a beautiful LA night. Old ass vines, soaring high alcohol at 14.5%, still massive amounts of fruit and striking acid to bring things in order. Superb companion to a wonderful homemade foie gras mi-cuit. Spices, elderflower, honey a bit, white flowers. Wonderfully balanced palate with a strong acid backbone, a touch of SR conferring a slight roundness to it, spices, a good grip to compliment the fat from the foie gras, and a very long finish with elder flower. I’m done drinking sweet wines with foie gras. Dry Gewurtztraminer for the win! Merry Christmas ! — 8 years ago

This has a briny yellow apple aroma. The palate doesn't match the aromas for me. Quince and pear flavors carry along an pleasant rocky tone. The wine hits way above its weight at about $15-17! Terrific with crab cakes and chicken Provençal. — 9 years ago
