Wow. This is just a beautiful wine. First time having this and I get the hype now. It's not over the top, everything is in balance and it is just stunning. Aromas of licorice, cassis and blackberries hit the nose and make you want to just keep sniffing. The entry is long, layered and full flavored with blackberries, cherries, chocolate and vanilla. The tannins are soft (decanted for nearly three hours) and there is a nice acidity present on the finish. This went well on its own and with food (rib roast). An incredible wine. Can't wait to try the '13! — 10 years ago

This is on point and if you have any, do enjoy. Gorgeous aromatics and the palate has that glorious mouth filling black cherry, perfect acid balance, and tannins that provide structure. Lovely finish. Yes, it could last for years, but I wouldn't necessarily wait if I had any more. My last bottle and the best one. — 10 years ago

This is indeed quite a lovely old school rioja, the nose awash with savoury leafy tones, tobacco and warm earth, dried plums and unfortunately the coconut dill of american wood....very refined palate, mid-sized, fluent and sweet n sour throughout, delicious peat moss and mud tones, plenty of dried fruit, however a creaminess to the texture and a splash of cedar on the finish detracts from its otherwise unmistakable beauty. I just can't help but feel this would be so much better without the american oak. I can only wait for the day all top riojan wines cast aside the shadow of their past, and believe wholesomely in the grandeur of their unique terroir. — 11 years ago

Dry blackberries, creamed black raspberries, black cherries, drip dark coffee, sticky tannins, leather, moist black earth, dry pebbles, some dark licorice anise, dry stems, leaner body style, good acid and long consistent finish wire to wire. First Jamet, and am definitely a fan. This and MS Ogier are probably my two favourite Cote Rotie producers right now. Need more!

Texture, perfume, and balance - those are the key here, despite it's youth. On the nose, dark fruits (blackberry etc), flowers, meat, smoke, and oaky spice. Touch of barnyard rusticity. Juicy on the palate, sour cherries, black pepper, bunchy goodness. Youthful tannins and persistent finish. So damn tasty. Gonna wait a while for this to open up!

Update: Looking more floral and spicy after some time. A touch of VA complexity building. Feel like it'll have a lot to offer as it ages. — 10 years ago

Really, really nice. Decanted for 1.5 hours and this guy is ready to go. Definitely a touch more fruit forward than expected, but still an excellent core of acidity that keeps it super lively. Very silky tannins at this point, no point to wait longer but also not at all over the hill. — 10 years ago

In contrast to the Chappellet this was rocking although 5 years younger and both from Pritchard Hill. Deep dark fruits, chocolate, black cherry and some oak but very well integrated. I've never opened a Continuum that doesn't kick ass. Young but no reason to wait. — 10 years ago
