Magnum 1991 Joseph Phelps Insignia CS. Dinner at T w neighbors. Drank alongside the '90 Latour out of magnum. We didn't decant this as long as the Latour and out of the gate, this wine was a little tight. However, by the end of dinner, this was the clear winner. Just held up and got better as the night progressed. — 9 years ago
you better have port wine on your screen, and graham's is a big player, big in quality, though, as well!
never say "industrial" here.
qd malvedos is a sub vinery and allowed to make it's own vintage ports in years graham's doesn't declare.
this is a catch, really, if you are lucky enough to get it! — 10 years ago
1985 Sassicaia. Second red wine at Redd Wood lunch w A, S, and K. This wine was perfect. Epic. We could not believe how perfect this wine was drinking. Thoroughly enjoyed it- it was enjoyable the way truffles are- hard to describe, but pleasing to all relevant senses. — 10 years ago
Magnum 1995 Harlan at Pr w K, A&S. Awesome. So big it was hard to believe it had almost 20 years on it. Great w the steaks we were eating! — 11 years ago
Smoky, peppery, almost effervescent. I'm a fan — 8 years ago
1999 Gianfranco Soldera Riserva Brunello. Lunch at T w Roger S and BP. Drank alongside the '99 Insignia. Decanted this wine ~30 min. We think this was an off bottle. Thin, high acid, no finish. Too bad. — 9 years ago
Opaque red w slight orange rim. Iron, earth, funk, dried herb, black cherry, rose. On palate red apple peel, more metal/funk; good acid, mild tannin, slightly bitter. Mourvèdre dominant. — 10 years ago

How'd the 375ml of '59 Chevy w mid-shoulder fill show?
#LIKEABOSS!
Nose of crushed leather furniture, cigar box, fig, Christmas cake, plum & hints of a red cherry cordial
Still a pop of acidity with the fruit, but richness dominated adding raisin to the flavors along w feral animale & shaved dark chocolate taking over on the lengthy finish — 9 years ago
Fruity but not sweet. Light & easy. — 10 years ago
Love this one. — 10 years ago
This wine is robust with moderate to high tannins, which I love. But what I love even more is that it is still very smooth. — 10 years ago
A semi-sweet Washington Riesling. Peach and stone fruit on the nose. Very fruit forward and tingly on the tongue. Well balanced between dry and sweet with bursts of peaches, pear, apples, mineral and a subtle hint of orange peel. Probably one of my favorite Rieslings I've had so far. — 10 years ago
My preference for Silver Oak! Have to have good wine to have dinner w my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Paul! — 12 years ago
