I have often struggled to appreciate Roussanne as it often lacks the acidity that I prefer in white wines. That being said, I always keep an open mind and experiences like this are the reason why. As a pairing, this was absolutely perfect with our seafood boil. Richly floral with stone fruits and nuts. A wine of texture with an undeniable oily-ness about it. The finish lasted 15-20 seconds; just long enough for the next bite of crab, lobster or shrimp. Repeat. This was markedly better than the first bottle we had a couple years back and I have to believe a little cellar time and the right food made the difference. — 3 years ago
Transparent burgundy with orange tinged halo in the glass. On the nose, one detects dark cherry, black pepper, and barely a hint of floral notes. The dark cherries reappear in the mouth with a bit of smoky sweet complexity and medium tannins. Finish lingers a little. I’d say it is quite a nice versatile wine. — 4 years ago

Strong apricot and honey flavors but grapey on the nose! Yummy! — 8 years ago
Stoney, salty nose. A little sour patch and now & later. On thicker side for Pinot noir. Some bite, but not too much. Nice dinner wine if your wanting a break from heavier Cabernets. — 2 years ago
Delicious. The label tasting notes are spot-on. Honeysuckle quince and nectarine! — 3 years ago
Lighter bodied, juicy Grenache from Clarksburg. Fruit forward pomegranate jam, and strawberry without being over the top fruity. Great with a chill. Pair with chicken teriyaki or lamb schwarma. — 4 years ago
Feels heavy at the beginning and then smooths out. Crowd pleaser and quickly becoming a staple! — 7 years ago
This one aging gracefully. Primary fruity and floral aromatics have evolved into loamy dark fruits. On the palate it maintains its elegance and freshness and shows black cherry, black raspberry and subtler spice notes with a very satisfying finish! 2011 Vintage — 8 years ago
A GSM blend from Cris Cherry at Villa Creek, this is what I would call one of his entry-level wines. Doesn’t possess the depth or complexity of some of his other cuvees like High Road or Avenger, but is still really enjoyable and a great value. — 4 years ago
Cherry, slightly sweet, dark red fruit, a little rich. Pepper throughout. Slightly smoky. Long red fruit finish. Drank for Thanksgiving at home. Elissa bought for me as a gift several years ago. She thought it was a little too rich, which I get but I liked it. — 4 years ago
A burst of blackberry and a slight licorice finish this is an amazing blend from Cliff Creek. — 7 years ago
James Berry Vineyard is always performing well. Such a great representation of the varietal.
