Open about an hour and it's not singing but it is humming at least. A tad hot, but incredible. Balanced yet fulsome. Two plus hours in and just soars. Embers, earth, dark fruit, spice and integrated oak. Definitely 98+. Wow. — 9 years ago

Fig, butterscotch, banana, cognac & alcohol dominate the nose. This wine is a monster. So intense and vibrant. Like it could not wait to be freed from the bottle. Nice tannins and acid. Flavors of biscuit, rhubarb & ripened light fruit. This wine makes you happy to love wine. Very fortunate to come across this bottle. 2006 vintage

Great bottle showing its age well. Preserved lemon, ripe melon, marshmallow, apple blossoms, hazelnut, damp earth, oyster shell, minerals, tea leaf. There's a caramelized honey element to the wine. Acidity is still fresh and vibrant. Great example of Muscadet with age. Similar aromas and flavors of aged chablis/BdB Champagne — 10 years ago

I still remember the very 1st Champagne visit I had 12yrs ago with Pierre, it's so great to come full circle. This is rich, but balanced, a great apple tarte tartin quality to it when opened, so showed development, but being VV it's understandable. After being open for an hour everything came alive, white florals, beautiful minerality. Outstanding wine. — 9 years ago

Tasty, but too young. Still a bit disjointed and the oak stuck out. Not really knocking it, as I knew I shouldn't be touching a 2010 yet. Hope to try it again in a few years. That being said, I do think the gevrey VV is a step above. — 9 years ago
