Through a veil of transparent berry fruit and delicate dried flowers the secondaries become the primaries: damp earth, mushroom tea, tomato leaves. Fine acidic structure. — 10 years ago
Château Châlon light. Powerfull on the sous voile characteristics (curry, nuts and cheese, it has been aged under a veil for 2,5years) but surprisingly easy and light on the palate. Wine of great finesse! Wonderful. Big part of the cuvée is made out of Chardonnay. It was hard to get my hands on one, but it was worth the wait. Thanks @Jiri Brandt for swapping a bottle. — 10 years ago
A bit edgy and green upon opening but more wow with some air. Petrichor and savory herb aromatic, veil of red fruit wrapped around salt and stone in the teeth. — 10 years ago
omg, I think I'm about to start a love affair with obscure Australians. Beautiful confusion for the senses. Skin-contact verdelho-semillion from the Hunter. — 13 years ago
One of the best $10 & under rosés on the market. Nose is subdued and approachable, showing red berries and a veil of minerality. With a slight effervescence and a touch of RS, this reminds me of fresh raspberry lemonade on a hot day. Accompanied with great mouthfeel and youthful acidity, this is rosé far outshines it's price tag. — 9 years ago
Where is that place where richness and precision collide? Where barely ripe tropical fruits flirt with a lacy veil of mineral sensation and just a tickle of late summer roll in the hay gets caught in my hair...That place? Oh, it's the Sonoma Coast squeezed and bottled with the Rivers-Marie label. — 10 years ago
Med plus body with base of fresh yellow apple and Meyer lemon all underneath a ripe tropical veil. — 11 years ago
I'm into this gem, like Alsace kabinett in style. Fun white. — 12 years ago
Very pleasant nose full of red fruit and spice. Tart cranberry dominates with cherry, black tea leaves, and black pepper shining through. Palate shows elegance and earth. Soft velvety tannins and a firm veil of acidity, the finish is long lasting. Excellent Pinot, although still a little pricey for what you get. — 9 years ago
Very much alive after 50+ years with aromas reminiscent of cherries, dried plums, licorice, orange peel, cedar akin to an old wooden cabinet, old leather, tobacco, earthiness, minute hints of celery and fennel, a slight veil of oxidation that adds to a slightly spicy beef broth undertone. Amazing dense oily texture to the wine but it still remains quite light, sour red fruit flavors as it enters the mouth with some blackberries, the midpalate reveals some savory beef broth notes mixed with balsamic notes that continue on to the long lasting spicy finish with discrete creamy notes. — 10 years ago
Nice sweet taste — 11 years ago
Under veil for a short time. Clean and racy. Yes! — 12 years ago
5 years under veil. Bottled direct from cask in April. Unfined, unfiltered. As close as you can get from trying Sherry from the cask. — 12 years ago
