Smells like Trix cereal in the best way possible, a delicious unique white from one of my favorite wine makers. — 7 years ago
This is a big wine full of big contradictions. First of all, was not expecting a dark golden, almost orange hue. Had to look it up and was surprised by an SB with intense skin and malo aging. A pungent, sour nose. It’s not at all a turn off, the opposite really. At the front I get a brine, salt water character but that quickly turns into a giant sour apricot with a long lingering finish that transitions into unripe banana and spicy herbs. Medium to full body with loads of puckering acid. A unique and wildly different wine. — 8 years ago
Quite unique and compelling. I appreciate the complexity and density that Antica Terra achieves without being overbearing or over the top. — 9 years ago
Unique and austere, has a waxy, honeyed, dried apricot, feral quality. — 9 years ago
Tastes beyond its Year. Reminiscent of an Italian, reminds me of Pinot noir. But unique and something special — 9 years ago

One of the best Sauvignon Blanc’s I have had — 8 years ago

2016. Really great wine. A bit young and will be great in 5+ years. Earthy woodsy nose, medium body, some dark fruit with mineral. Decant for at least 1 hour. — 8 years ago
Tonight’s wine club gathering was extra special due to the fact that each selection put forward for tasting had a unique and special story behind it; each wine had a “near and dear” element to it that made tasting it all the more enjoyable while the stories surrounding them were told.
This selection and vintage holds special meaning for me. The memories associated with it are truly sweet. So elegant and beautiful; once the funk blew off after about an hour in the decanter the true nature of the wine blossomed. Savory notes of molasses, plum, and fig married with the cool, intoxicating aromas of eucalyptus and mint laced in dark, sweet, dusty fruits. So delicious. I’m thankful I have a few more of these in the cellar. — 9 years ago

Pineapple, baked banana, golden raisin, cognac, ginger and lemon grass. Unique. — 10 years ago
Big words: best red wine PM has ever made. So joyous and energetic! The kind of wine that takes you out of conversation to remark on how delicious the wine tastes at every sip! Light sparkly texture is right up my alley personally. Lovely tart fruit and some forest notes. I would find it hard to grow tired of this wine, could drink a bottle every day. — 7 years ago
Awesome and got better with time. — 8 years ago
How does this marry oxidation and freshness and tension so seamlessly? Compelling. Better warmer, and best with food. You could have this as an apero, but there's more to be discovered as it finds its place at the table. Hard to believe this is almost all Chardonnay. Unique. — 8 years ago

We often read discussions of wines that deserve more respect than they are designated. Villages that drink like premier crus; premieres that aspire to be GC's. in this case, we have a "lowly" villages lieu-dit surrounded on 3 sides by great Gevrey GC climats. Such a sweet spot of intense savory fruit at a price point that blows your mind. Thoroughly impressed with the pedigree of this wine, and the visceral edginess that Gerard Raphet imparts here. Spicy, fresh acidity, vibrant mesmerizing tannin, ripe cherry, earthy to the core. Soooo Burgundian! Enjoyable now (with a brilliant succulent Mahi-mahi), but will be so much more incredible in the mid-2020's. — 9 years ago

Musty, pungent notes of mushrooms, still some fruit. Drinking well @ 16 years. peppers on front palate, mildly acidic finish, soft tannins — 6 years ago
