Fresh palate with a touch of sweetness and lots of stone fruits and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2022.

Reserve Troika Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2013

Upea herukkainen, savuinen ja musteinen maku. Tanniinit yllättävän kevyet, mutta antoivat mukavasti ryhtiä. Tarjottu Joulupöydässä poronpaistin kera. — 8 years ago

Ultima Tulie

Rosé Blend 2017

Greg Ballington
9.2

First time we are trying wines from Ultima Tulie. This Rosé blend is made up of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

We have never seen a Rosé this dark, maybe only the Troika Rosé. Deep magenta pink, almost red. Bright on the nose with lots of red fruits, watermelon, roses, raspberries and seems like even a touch of citrus. Bright acidity (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Well integrated on the palate with strawberries, watermelon, and strawberry creme with the body building up near the end. Long and lingering finish with good acidity. Drink till 2022. Sample provided by winery.

I have to mention the wine is unfiltered and the sediment cap at the top provided a built in aerator.

Troika

Rose Wine Mendocino County 2015

Greg Ballington
8.9

Last winery on day two in Sonoma was Troika Wines with Jeff, Noel and Ari. Next up was their insanely dark Rose from the Split Rock Ranch in Mendocino County made up of 100% Grenache and fermented in neutral French oak barrels.

Deep magenta pink, almost a ruby red in appearance. Lush nose with notes of pomegranate, strawberries, under-ripe cherries and granite. Medium acidity (6/10) and medium plus body. A touch of sweetness on the palate with some iron, cherries, and watermelon. Medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2021.

$$ - Tasted at the winery with Noel, Jeff and Ari. Release price is $30.00.

Sorella Horse Heaven Hills Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

Completing the troika of Cali Bdx blends, this was still a bit primary, with bold tannins and a brash mineral/graphite component that needs a bit more bottle age to tame. Should be awesome in the 2020's. — 7 years ago
