Went to a tasting and they were featuring Chalk Hill, winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded CH in 1972. Had this ‘16 about a year ago. Rich deep straw color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with gentle vanilla toasty oak. Well balanced on lingering finish ending with oak and mineral notes. Aged well. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago

Recently purchased by Bill Foley of Foley Family Wines, continuing traditions of Fred Furth who founded Chalk Hill in 1972, which encompasses 280 acres of vineyards. A blend of 84% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sauvignon Gris and 6% Sauvignon Musque, the latter 2 adding an interesting dynamic to the wine and distinctive aromas. One of the few SB's to see some oak giving this wine complexity. Peach, herb and earthy tones, well balanced with acidity, smooth yet robust on a lingering finish ending with citrus notes. — 8 years ago
The Allegrini family has been handing down wine producing traditions over many generations. Giovanni Allegrini was the founder of the new generation and one of the first to question local viticultural techniques, and revolutionized changes to accepted practices. Dark red with aromas of dried dark fruits and herb. On the palate cherry and strawberries flavors with cacao notes, flint and mineral tones. Soft smooth tannins well balanced with acidity on a long smooth finish. Will continued to get better. — 9 years ago
One of the preservers of Chianti traditions. For me, first rated. I had the 2013 in 2020. The winemaker is a 80 plus years princess, an autodidact. Fantastic — 5 years ago
Purchased not long ago by Bill Foley of Foley Family Wines, who will continue traditions that Fred Furth began in 1972. 2015 was a perfect year for Chard. Aromas of tropical fruits, spice and citrus. On the palate melon & apricot, tad creamy with some citrus zest and toasty oak notes. Smooth and lingering, well balanced, nice acidity, ending with fruit and spicy oak. A Fav! Good value! — 7 years ago
Very energetic acid profile and a beautiful classic northern rhone character coming through this gamay. This is an amazing cross section of ideas, concepts, and traditions that is everything I expect it to be. Wonderful. — 8 years ago
A small, family-run domaine now in its 5th generation. Cathy & Cedric aim to strike a balance between the old and the new, with wines that respect the traditions of their ancestors but have one foot firmly in the present.100% Gamay, bright red with red fruit aromas and oaky pepper notes. On the palate cherry flavors with espresso, oak and vanilla, soft tannins on lingering finish. Good balance. — 8 years ago
Terrific southern Rhone wine, with dark fruit weighted toward the finish and a lovely mouthfeel to it. One for winter and another great find from Wine Traditions. — 9 years ago
More apple than a mac and-with 18% alcohol- more spice than Old Spice. Elegant bottle wraps up a killer ensemble — 9 years ago
It tasted great for the small price. I would recommend for someone wanting a sweet wine. — 7 years ago

One of my WA favorites! Crisp and perfect with Yakima's warm summers — 8 years ago
Slate in spades! Lots of smoke, flloral nuances, candied lemon, Reine Claude, apricot and bruised red apple. Very precise and well-defined in its aromatics.
What I think is remarkable of this wine is the way how airyness, elegance and detail are balanced with the impressive concentration of minerals and creamy fruit in the mid-palate. A modern-day Mosel Riesling, though made with lots of respect and attention for the Mosel traditions. What a gorgeous wine. Bravo.

Very smooth with deep flavor. — 9 years ago
This winery is a special place for us. We visited there the day before we were married. An smaller, older winery following their time honoured traditions. — 9 years ago
