Still too early to the party. Second time at this, still needs a few years. Oh has it changed in a year though. It’s massive. Deep nose of fruit, with silky tannins and deep black fruit on the palate. Olive and charcuterie. Round out this incredible expression of Syrah. Time will be kind but it’s limited — 5 years ago
Not my favorite Arietta. Tons of vanilla sort of overwhelms the fruit on the palate. Great nose, though. A bit hot on the finish. — 6 years ago
Needs a lot of time to open. Super tight at the open. Give it some time and flavors are abundant. Deep dark fruit and finish that goes on for ever. — 7 years ago
A redo after that disappointing 2002 Pichon Lalande two weeks ago on #steakandclaret night. While this is not again what I expect from this producer, it is better than the 02. Nose of cedar, fresh tobacco, stones and dry soil, quiet baking baking spices, ripe & lean; blackberries, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, pomegranate, hues of blueberries, light mushroom, soft leather, black licorice cola and fresh red florals. The body is leaner to medium and well resolved. The fruits are fresh & bright. Dark cherries, cherries, lean blackberries, strawberries, cherries, pomegranate & cranberry juice, hues of blue fruits, saddle-wood, sweet suede leather, fresh tobacco leaf, cedar, dry stones, top soil & rich turned dark earth, limestone minerals, dry stems, slight touch of dry herbs, round, mouthwatering acidity and lean, long, well balanced fruit & earth, good structured finish with length. Finish lasts a full minute. Still 8-10 years of good drinking ahead. 9.3 with the ribeye. — 8 years ago
14 drinking near peak of mature brightness and silky tannins - really balanced front to back...I really love Melville! I think it’s the most underrated winery in the US likely! Really expressive and nice pure fruit! — 6 years ago
Taste of Italy Venice FL — 6 years ago
Fairly fruity on the nose. Hint of black pepper and something earthy/mineral. Flavor is very dry. Dried strawberries and red vines. Classic jammy Zin thing. Some pomegranate molasses perhaps. Fresh and zinfulliciuos. Plenty of tannin to give it more bite than Zin usually achieves. Complex. True. Enjoyable. — 6 years ago
J Rochioli River Block Chardonnay 2013
Not overly intense, ripe, oaky and buttery but rather calm and settled with a good balance of its fruits and minerality. Good surprise. Medium to full-bodied. Will revisit in a few years.
力強いフルーツ感、樽香、バタリーなカリシャルを想像していましたが、良い意味で裏切られました。フルーツとミネラルのバランスがよく素晴らしい。もう1本はもう少し寝かせてみます。

It's a Cabernet, Shiraz, Merlot blend. Perfume dark florals, black licorice, blackberries, blueberries & black plum on the nose. On the palate, ripe fruits of; blueberries, black berries, black cherries, black licorice, black cherry cola, violets, baked rhubarb, bitty stem inclusion & soft leather. Finishes dark cassis and high acidity. — 8 years ago
Thank you @Jason and Jennie / amazing wine and Kirk Venge is making delicious wine - RP scored this 97 and I was just not willing to go that far but one of the best Napa cabs in awhile for me - this was consumed during the WNH Sunday virtual zoom tasting and to share virtually with Jason and Jennie was even more amazing - wine had legs forever - deep ruby color - smell of dark red cherries and raspberries and coco - taste and finish incredible - fruit forward delicious smooth - all of the above help create big bold beautiful in a bottle and left me with a huge smile — 5 years ago
Really loving this for winter or by a fire. HEAVY but has the rustic feel of South African Cab - a certain grit to it. The nose will throw you off but definitely dive into it, it’s ready to drink in the 2014 vintage already. Heavy complex - unlike a Bordeaux. — 6 years ago
PNP > @Mike Smith , My last bottle & hogging it all to myself! Fabulous purity, concentration, gobs of glycerin, smooth integrated tannins, long finish. Kudos, you really killed this wine from Coliseum Block Vineyard in 2012! Has this Vineyard been replanted from the Napa fire that destroyed it? If yes, will you have access to the fruit in the future? Thanks for making such a great wine! Congratulations again on this wine! 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Cheers 🍇🍷 — 6 years ago
Delicious after an hour decant — 7 years ago
Starts with a whiff of charcoal-grilled meat and juicy fruit, and finishes with strong (but well integrated) tannins. This was exceptional, part plum crisp and spearmint, with real concentration and drive. — 7 years ago
Gorgeous purple color. Deep dark black licorice, black berries, black current and plums. Dark fruits, spice, smoky wood and a hint of cardamom. Needs to be decanted for an hour to enjoy a delicious linger of tannins. One of my favorites — 8 years ago

This is a beautiful Carménère, all earthy and full of savory minerality. The blackberry and black plum aromas creep through the smell of that dirt with tar, forest floor and tobacco all over them. A hint of vanilla sweetens the sniff a bit. On the palate, the dark fruit is draped in sweet oak spice, and you’ll find a bucketful of tannins until the glass has been sitting for awhile. This is a steak wine, intended for a big, juicy piece of beef. — 5 years ago
